University of Leeds: Applications Open For MSc in Sustainable Agriculture & Food Production For Indian Students

The University of Leeds has launched the MSc in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Production. The applications are currently open for the course. The last date to apply for the course is July 31, 2025.
The program will equip students with the skills to tackle the urgent global challenges related to sustainable farming and food security. The program offers opportunity for students who want to make real-world impact in this sector with a strong focus on cutting-edge research, environmental sustainability, and industry collaboration.
All Indian students will get £6,000 International Masters Regional Scholarships and the tuition fee is £31,250 which is approx. INR 33,98,975. The duration of the course is 12 months.
Eligibility Criteria For MSc In Sustainable Agriculture and Food Production
The following are the eligibility criteria:
- The applicants must have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2:1 honours.
- OR, they can have a first-class bachelor’s degree from an Indian university in a relevant field such as environmental science, biology, biochemistry, food science, crop, agriculture and soil science.
“A distinctive feature of the program is its access to the University of Leeds’ state-of-the-art Research Farm, spanning over 300 acres. The farm provides students with hands-on experience across a variety of agricultural landscapes, including arable crops, agroforestry plots, and sheep grazing areas. Throughout their studies, students will have opportunities to visit and conduct research on the farm, gaining practical exposure to sustainable farming techniques, livestock management, and environmental monitoring. This direct access to a working farm enhances their learning experience by enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting and undertake impactful research projects,” reads the university statement.
The sustainable agriculture and food production significance is growing due to three key challenges including increasing environmental pressures, an expanding global population, and a changing climate.
“The MSc Sustainable Agriculture and Food Production program at the University of Leeds is a multidisciplinary course that leverages the institute's strong foundation in sustainable agricultural research. It also draws upon the extensive expertise available across the university and beyond, including the Global Food and Environment Institute. With an interdisciplinary and research-led approach, the program equips students with a comprehensive understanding of the critical issues shaping both agriculture and food production,” added the statement.
