University Of Liverpool: ICSR Opens For Business With Inaugural Workshops

The Interdisciplinary Centre for Sustainability Research (ICSR) at the University of Liverpool will support the researchers' teams who can collectively work towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Study in UK: As part of its annual Sustainability Week, the University of Liverpool has introduced its new Interdisciplinary Centre for Sustainability Research (ICSR) to support the researchers in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
ICSR will bring together various kinds of knowledge, researchers, and skills from across the university and will promote engagement with international and national experts. Its mission is to support high-impact interdisciplinary research projects by finding and supporting the funding bids, boosting partnerships across disciplines, advancing the Liverpool 2031 strategy, enhancing the research environment of the university, also attracting and developing talent in research.
Professor Katie Atkinson, Director of the ICSR, said, “The ICSR is a hugely exciting initiative to expand impactful interdisciplinary research collaborations here at Liverpool and advance our work on UN Sustainable Development Goals. I look forward to fostering new partnerships and driving research that will have a lasting impact on sustainability at local, national, and global levels.”
IBM Partners With ICSR, Supports PhD Studentship
Dr Juan Bernabé-Moreno, Director of IBM Research Europe (Ireland and UK) and IBM’s Climate and Sustainability Accelerated Discovery Lead was the keynote speaker of the launch event. He talked about the role of interdisciplinary collaboration in handling urgent societal and environmental challenges. IBM has collaborated with ICSR and is supporting PhD studentships.
