University of Sheffield: Admissions Open For MSc Robotics Course

The University of Sheffield is currently accepting applications for its MSc Robotics course. The programme will commence in September 2025. The duration of the program is one year and the 2025 annual fee for the international student is £31,190.

After completing this course, the students will become expert professionals in autonomous and robotic systems with interdisciplinary skills and will join the next generation of engineers. Robotics is a much sought-after skill in various sectors, including healthcare, manufacturing and aerospace. Other than robotics, the Internet of Things, autonomous systems, cloud computing, and smart grids are also in demand.

In this course, the students will learn about robotic sensing and perception, machine and artificial intelligence (AI), robotic devices and systems, and control and planning.

“The University of Sheffield offers 75 International Postgraduate Taught Merit Scholarships for the 2025 entry. Each scholarship is a competitive award worth £10,000 towards the original tuition fee for a postgraduate taught programme starting in September 2025. The scholarships are available to all new international students who meet the eligibility criteria. The deadline for scholarship applications is 1 pm (UK time) on Monday 12 May 2025,” reads the university statement.

“The course is accredited by the Engineering Council UK, Institution of Engineering and Technology and the Institute of Measurement and Control,” added the university statement.

While pursuing the course, the students will be able to choose from optional modules and will also complete a research-level dissertation project.

Entry Requirements For MSc Robotics

The following are the entry requirements for MSc Robotics at the University of Sheffield:

  • The candidate should have a minimum of 60% score in a degree course in a relevant subject from a recognized university.
  • The degrees in the following subject areas are accepted: Mathematics, Engineering, and Physics.
  • They should have an overall IELTS score of 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in each component.

After completing the course, the students will be able to apply their skills to various engineering disciplines. Also, they will use hardware tools and industry-standard CAD to design and analyse mechatronic systems.
