The program is designed to prepare students for a global and dynamic career as a chartered planner specializing in urban design. The students will engage with the pressing issues of cities all across the globe. They will gain understanding and skills in urban design and planning. The fee for the international students for 2025 is £26,310.
MA Urban Design and Planning: Eligibility Criteria
The following are the eligibility criteria:
- The candidates must have completed a three-year bachelor's degree course from a recognized university with a minimum of 60%.
- They need to score a minimum of 6.5 in IELTS overall with each component not less than 6.0.

The program equips students with skills for a rewarding and dynamic career in urban design and planning. They can either join the private or public sector. The program is fully accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
The students will gain an understanding of the relationship between design and planning and specialist knowledge related to the program. They will get to interact and engage with the academic staff who are at the forefront of various fields.
The course is open to students from diverse backgrounds and they need not be from only design or planning. Students from architecture, geography, economics, engineering, and graphic design can also join the program. Students with a variety of experiences and skills are invited to join the program. The program helps students train as both planning practitioners and design professionals. The students will get exposure to state-of-the-art technologies, including augmented reality and virtual reality and training in software like CAD and Adobe Creative Cloud.

Through optional modules, students will be able to tailor the MA to suit their professional interests. It offers an integrated approach to urban design and planning required by leading consultants and city authorities around the world. On completion students will be able to produce professional graphics, maps and visualisations of their ideas and solutions for a better built environment,” reads the university statement.
