The University of Sheffield UK has invited applications for the MSc Health Economics and Decision Modelling course. The course will commence in September 2025. The annual fee for the international student is £29,030.
This course will train the students for the growing field of health economics by equipping them with theoretical and analytical skills. To make informed public health decisions, they will learn how to analyse and evaluate healthcare interventions.
The program assesses the cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and clinical outcomes of healthcare resources including public health initiatives, new drugs, screening programmes and diagnostic tools. The program is designed to offer students the practical tools to let them know about healthcare policy so that they can make better decisions and help people live healthier lives.
“Students can study economics concepts that are key to understanding the healthcare sector, and explore the process of conducting economic evaluations, modelling the cost-effectiveness of healthcare interventions, and carrying out health technology assessments. The course also covers medical statistics and evidence synthesis in the context of clinical trials, and how mathematical modelling and simulations inform healthcare decision making,” says the university statement.
Throughout the one-year course, they will also be trained in the research methods and will work on a three-month research project based on the healthcare problems and these models.
