University Of Strathclyde Introduces MSc Sustainability Innovation Leadership Program
Study in UK: The University of Strathclyde has announced a new program MSc Sustainability Innovation Leadership. The course is launched with a scholarship worth £5,000 for international students.
University of Strathclyde, Glasgow has announced a new program MSc Sustainability Innovation Leadership. It will train the students and develop their skills and vision to handle the complex challenges of the social and environment.
Professor Sonja Oliveira, Course Leader for MSc Sustainability Innovation Leadership, said," Sustainability leadership expertise demands new kinds of skills and creative thinking that no single discipline can provide. The new MSc in Sustainability Innovation Leadership combines business, engineering, and design to develop interdisciplinary leaders equipped to tackle climate change and global uncertainty. Open to various backgrounds, it offers skills in regenerative thinking, environmental science, and creative leadership. Business students will focus on uncertainty and innovation, designers will gain leadership grounded in complexity, and engineers will develop transformative skills to drive change. The course includes modules on social entrepreneurship, design thinking, circular economy, air quality, energy and water policy, providing a unique and valuable skill set"
The applicants are welcomed from various fields including engineering, management, business, architecture and design.
Regarding the fees and eligibility, the university statement says, “A first-class or upper second-class honours degree (or international equivalent) in disciplines related to engineering, business, management, architecture, design is required to be eligible to apply for this course. The fee for international students joining this course is £30,250 for 2025/26 .”

The full-time course will begin in September 2025. It is a one-year duration course which offers an interdisciplinary approach merging innovation, sustainability, and leadership across multiple sectors.
The university has also announced a scholarship worth £5,000 for self-funded international (non-EU) students. It is to support talented students and make education more accessible to aspiring students. The scholarship will be offered towards the tuition fee and it will automatically be deducted from the fee.
“The MSc programme is designed for those from a broad range of disciplinary backgrounds who are driven by curiosity and a passion for sustainability. The course will develop leaders with Interdisciplinary knowledge & innovation skills, the ability to critically assess uncertain and complex environmental and social scenarios , training to drive sustainability leadership across sectors including business, engineering, and design,” said the university statement.
