OSU History
Oregon State Uni was founded in 1868. Back then it operated under the name Corvallis Academy, and was the first community school in the Corvallis area. The academy was incorporated in 1958 and changed its name to Corvallis College. In 1937, the institute was renamed to Oregon State College (OSC). In 1961, it finally took over its current name: Oregon State University.
