Scholarship Overview

Bournemouth University offers the BU Sport Scholarship. This one time scholarship offered by the International Students Office of Bournemouth University awards scholarships to degree-seeking students who have specified financial needs. Note that a large portion of the scholarship funds come from International student tuition. BU Sport Scholarship is applicable for Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree. The award is applicable for the courses like MSc Information Technology,MSc Mechanical Engineering Design,MSc Nutrition & Behaviour,MBA,MSc International Management,BA (Hons) Business Studies,BA (Hons) Accounting, Finance and Economics ,MSc Finance etc as given below. If we consider the amount of the BU Sport Scholarship, then it varies each semester. The applicants should review the scholarship application in order to fully understand the availability and amount for that particular semester.

• The value of the scholarship is £500 to £5,000
• Students can apply for up to £5,000 of funding and put this money towards coaching, equipment, competition entry fees, travel expenses or/or support services

Eligibility

• Applicant must fulfill the following criteria to be eligible for a financial and/or a support services scholarship:
  • Be a student at Bournemouth University who has received and accepted an offer of a place on an undergraduate or a postgraduate course
  • Demonstrate excellence in a chosen sport, be part of a Regional, National, and/or International squad and compete at this level (individual athletes will also need to be competitive with top performers within the BUCS program)
• If applicants are awarded a scholarship, they will need to meet with the Sports Performance Manager to assess how the funds will help them throughout the year, commit to attending 75% of training sessions, represent BU in sporting competitions where possible to raise the profile of SportBU’s activities and to be featured in marketing materials

Application Process for this scholarship

• Two References required
  • Ensure the application is supported by an online reference from High-Performance Coach or National Governing Body coach
• An applicant will have to attend the trial process and be assessed by the BU coach
