Scholarship Overview

  • In celebration of our upcoming University of York campus opening in Mumbai, India, we have launched a new scholarship for undergraduate students from India.
  • These scholarships are awarded to international students to support them in achieving their goals at the University of York. 
  • All undergraduate students from India holding an offer at York will be automatically considered. There is no need to formally apply for the scholarship.

This scholarship is applicable for the following courses in University of York in UK

  • All undergraduate courses are eligible for this scholarship.
  • Students on the following pathways are not eligible for these scholarships:
    • Hull York Medical School
    • International Pathway College
    • Distance and online learning courses
    • Part-time courses
    • Kaplan International College London

Max scholarship per student: Pound 10,000 => Rs 12,87,690

Conversion rate used: 1 Pound = Rs. 129.36 (last updated 17th August 2026)

Eligibility

  • Open to students from India only.

  • To be eligible for the India Undergraduate Global Opportunities Scholarship you must:

    • have a conditional or unconditional offer to study at the University of York by 30 June 2025
    • be paying fees at the overseas fee rate (any fee assessments must be completed by 30 June 2025) 
    • intend to study a full-time undergraduate course.

  • You will not be eligible if:
    • you hold a 100% tuition fee scholarship or are fully sponsored.

Application Process for this scholarship

  • There is no need to formally apply for the scholarship.
  • All undergraduate students from India holding an offer at York will be automatically considered. 
  • A panel of senior staff from the University will select the successful scholarship awardees.

Scholarship Application

Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship when they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. No separate application is needed.

  • Once offered a scholarship, you must:
    • accept the scholarship offer formally by using the link provided within your offer email
    • accept your offer of admission from York

  • These actions must be completed by the deadline provided in your offer email. Otherwise, you will lose your scholarship, and it will be offered to a reserve candidate.

     

  • If you have been informed that you require a credibility interview, your scholarship will be conditional on the successful outcome of this interview. Should you be unsuccessful, the scholarship offer will be rescinded.

     

  • If you defer your place at the University of York you cannot keep your scholarship.

     

  • The India Undergraduate Global Opportunities Scholarship may be combined with University of York departmental scholarships as long as this does not exceed 100% of your tuition fees.

     

  • The India Undergraduate Global Opportunities Scholarship may be combined with external funding as long as this does not exceed 100% of your tuition fees.

  • Please note that this award replaces any other previous awards offered through the International Recruitment and Partnerships and cannot be combined with the previous scholarship offer.
