Eligibility

  • The applicant must:
    • be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person with the protected/refugee status or an international student;
    • have completed at least one year of undergraduate studies and be registered in a course of study related to the field of mining, including the geological and geophysical fields (i.e. environmental geosciences, geological sciences, earth sciences and mining-related engineering);
    • demonstrate an active interest in the mining industry;
    • have attained a minimum academic average of “B.”; and
    • be continuing his/her program into the following academic year

Application Process for this scholarship

  • Applications must be made through Online Scholarships and Bursaries, which can be accessed through www.uozone.uOttawa.ca, and should include: 
  • a non-official copy of the applicant’s transcript;
  • a letter from the applicant (500 words maximum), demonstrating his/her interest in the field/industry of mining; and
  • a declaration by the applicant of any other funding, awards or scholarships received for the year of application.

Additional Information

  • If at the time of the selection process the Selection Committee is aware of an upcoming mining-related field trip in Ontario and if the number of qualified applicants permits, the additional funds may be allocated to assist with student expenses for the field trip, at its discretion
