Eligibility

  • Jefferson Scholars is awarded to individuals who have undergone a rigorous selection process and who possess an exceptional record of and the potential for impact both inside and outside the classroom.
  • The selection process has three main components: Nomination, Regional Review, and Final Selection.
  • Regional interviews can take place either in-person or virtually. 

Preference will be given to following candidates:

  • Jefferson Scholars is seeking nominees who demonstrate excellence or the potential for excellence as leaders, scholars, and engaged citizens. Walentas Scholarship nominees must also be first-generation, college-bound students.
