Eligibility

  • All successful MFA applicants who have clear academic and professional merit and can demonstrate the ability to contribute to all aspects of the MFA programme
  • This will be assessed through the application submitted to the programme and interview feedback
  • All candidates will be automatically considered for this award
  • Applicants in order to be considered for the scholarship require to be eligible for the course
    • Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree
      • University accept strong undergraduate degrees (minimum 2:1) in a numerate discipline such as finance, accounting, economics, engineering, chemistry, physics, math, computer science and business and management or other proof of quantitative ability
    • The MFA is specially designed for recent graduates - so you can join straight from your undergraduate studies. It’s also suitable for those who have completed an internship or have up to two years in the workplace.
    • Applicants must have proficiency in english language requirement
      • IELTS: Minimum score 7 with Minimum required on each component 6.5
      • PTE: Minimum score 76 with Minimum required on each component 70
      • DET: Minimum score 135 with Minimum required on each component 125
    • if shortlisted for interview you will be given further information on the interview process. Your interview will be conducted by a member of our alumni community or a member of the Recruitment and Admissions Team.
  • You must take either the GMAT / GMAT Focus, GRE or CFA Level 1 certification before you submit your application.
    • If you have not received your official score report by the time you submit, University do accept the unofficial score report as evidence. University have no minimum score but recommend you apply with a GMAT score of 600 or above.
    • University do not offer a waiver. However, if you have completed CFA Level 1, you don't need to provide GMAT/GRE results.

University is interested in what motivates you, evidence of leadership and teamwork, why you are looking to pursue a Masters in Financial Analysis and what you will bring to the LBS community.
  • One Page CV: Please follow the instructions within the online application form to attach the CV to the application
  • Name and detail of referee: All applicants are required to have one reference submitted on their behalf.
    • University prefer that you choose a current or previous employer who is able to provide insight into your character and abilities, please choose someone who knows you well. If you are unable to provide a current (or previous) employer e.g. if you work for a family business or an entrepreneur, then please select an academic referee who knows you well enough to comment on your character and abilities. 
  • Academic Transcripts: Transcripts should include a comprehensive record of completed courses, grades and class of degree received and, if possible, class ranking. If it is not in English, you must provide a certified or notarised English translation.
