• The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers the following entrance awards to recognize outstanding new graduate students upon admission to the Mechanical Engineering Graduate Program, York University. There are a maximum of ten (10) awards at the Masters and PhD levels.

• On the recommendation of the Graduate Program Committee, the student will receive a $2,000 award which is in addition to their minimum guaranteed funding amount stated in their offer letters.

Eligibility

Qualification requirements:

• All applicants (Canadian and international) admitted to the graduate program in Mechanical Engineering, York University, will be automatically considered for this award. The selection will be based on a combination of the following criteria: -
• Candidate must be registered full-time in the first-year of a graduate program (MASc or PhD) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, York University, at the time of receiving the award.
• Candidates must have a GPA of A- or higher for the last 2 years of their education. - Candidate s past research activities and quality of research performance, and significance of the projects/work, e.g. presenting at international conferences, publication, or application of the work.
