Scholarship Overview

  • The Queen’s Family Scholarship is exclusively available to new international students entering Queen's University Belfast in the academic year 2025/26.
  • To be eligible for the Queen’s Family Scholarship students must hold an offer of a place on a programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus, starting in the academic year 2025/26 and prior to commencement of study have met any academic and language conditions attached to their offer as stated in their offer letter.

This scholarship is applicable for the following courses in Queen's University Belfast in UK

  • Postgraduate Research, Postgraduate Taught, Undergraduate programmes are applicable.
  • The following programmes are excluded from eligibility for the Queen’s Family Scholarship:
    • Undergraduate: Medicine, Dentistry, Agricultural Technology, Theology.
    • Postgraduate: PG Certificate and PG Diploma programmes, MTh Theology.
    • ALL Distance Learning programmes, foundation degree programmes and non-standard fee courses, including part-time programmes.
    • MSc (T) Applied Behaviour Analysis, MSc (T) Autism Spectrum Disorders or MSc (T) Business for Agri-Food and Rural Enterprise
    • External PhD programmes where students only undertake part of their research at Queen’s University.
    • Higher Doctorates - Doctor of Divinity (DD), Doctor of Laws (LLD), Doctor of Letters (DLitt), Doctor of Science (DSc), Doctor of Science (Economics) (DSc (Econ)), Doctor of Science, (Education) (DSc (Ed)) and Doctor of Social Science (DSSc)
    • PhD programmes by Published Works

  • The scholarship may only be claimed by students whose sibling, parent or grandparent is currently pursuing, or has already completed, a  programme at Queen's University Belfast, including completion of an exchange or Study Abroad programme.
  • Stepchildren and step siblings may also be eligible.

Queen's Family Scholarship Terms and Conditions:

  1. The Queen’s Family Scholarship is exclusively available to new international students entering Queen's University Belfast in the academic year 2025/26. To be eligible for the Queen’s Family Scholarship students must hold an offer of a place on a programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus, starting in the academic year 2025/26 and prior to commencement of study have met any academic and language conditions attached to their offer as stated in their offer letter.
    • Students commencing an Exchange, International Summer School, AHSS Winter School or Study Abroad programmes are not eligible.  
    • Exclusions apply – see point 15 below.
  2. The Queen’s Family Scholarship is available to the grandchildren, children or siblings of current Queen’s University Belfast students or Queen’s University Belfast Alumni. Stepchildren and step siblings will also be eligible subject to point 6 below.
  3. The scholarship may only be claimed by students whose grandparent, parent or sibling is currently pursuing, or has already completed, a programme at Queen's University Belfast, including completion of an exchange or Study Abroad programme. 
  4. Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the full international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount. Students paying NI, GB. ROI or EU fees are not eligible for the Queen’s Family Scholarship.
  5. Students must complete an application form via the link above to claim the scholarship.
  6. Students wishing to avail of the Queen’s Family Scholarship may be required to provide additional verification of their relationship to the current Queen’s University Belfast student or Queen’s University Belfast Alumni through whom they are claiming the Scholarship. Where additional verification is necessary International Scholarships will contact the applicant and advise accordingly.
