  • Amount: $10,000 for first year of study (non-renewable)
  • How/When Is It Paid: 
    • Payment of the award is conditional on full-time registration in September at the division/college/faculty making the offer (i.e. the scholarship offer is division/college/faculty specific). Students must be registered full time for both the fall and winter sessions. The funds in payment of the award will be credited to the student’s fees account following registration in September. After deduction of outstanding fees, any balance remaining will be issued by direct deposit. Please ensure your direct deposit banking information is updated on your ACORN account. Instructions for setting up direct deposit on ACORN are available at http://help.acorn.utoronto.ca/how-to/.

Eligibility

  • Outstanding domestic and international secondary school students are considered automatically for these awards on the basis of their average at the time of admission (applicants who have previously attended a post-secondary institution are not eligible for U of T Scholars consideration).
  • Recipients must be applying to the first year of direct-entry undergraduate studies.
  • All India Senior School Certificate (awarded by CBSE) or Indian School Certificate (awarded by CISCE).  Year 12 State Board Exams with excellent results will also be considered on an individual basis.
  • CBSE students interested in programs that require Calculus for admission, such as business, engineering, and science programs, must present Class XII Standard Mathematics for admission consideration. Class XII Applied Mathematics (new and old syllabus) will not meet the Calculus requirement.
  • Course Eligibility varies , students need to check the course pages.
  • English Language Proficiency Requirements:
    • Duolingo English Test -  overall score of 120 with a score of 120 in Production. 

    • IELTS Academic - The minimum requirement is an overall band of 6.5, with no band below 6.0. 

    • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic - The minimum requirement is an overall score of 65 with no part below 60. 

    • TOEFL iBT - The minimum requirement is a total score of 89 with 22 in each of Speaking and Writing.

  • English Language Proficiency Waiver :
    • International Baccalaureate (IB) English - The minimum requirement is a score of at least 4 (predicted or final) in Higher or Standard Level English A: Literature or English A: Language and Literature. HL English B is not acceptable
