Eligibility

  • Eligibility vary from course to course basis
  • Applicant must be an International student who is completing school outside of Canada, or who is transferring from a post-secondary institution within Canada. Students completing high school within Canada are not eligible.
  • Applicant must apply for first year full-time studies (minimum of 3.5 courses) in any first-entry undergraduate program at Western Main Campus for the 2025-2026 Fall/Winter academic year. Note: if you enroll or reduce your course load to part-time (less than 3.5 courses) or withdraw from the academic year, you will not be eligible to keep your scholarship.
  • Applicant must be paying international student tuition and fees. Any changes to your status in Canada that qualify you for domestic fees (ie. Who Pays Canadian Tuition Fees?) after receiving a scholarship offer will render you ineligible for the scholarship.
  • Applicant must meet the admission conditions as specified in your offer.
  • The Welcome to Canada Admission Scholarship cannot be deferred.
  • Applicants must have passed from one of the following:
    • CBSE - All India Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (AISSSCE); or
    • CISCE - Indian School Certificate (ISC); or
    • State Boards – Intermediate / Pre-University / Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary School Certificate
  • Subjuct required: English
  • Proof of English Language Proficiency
    • IELTS: 6.5, with no part less than 6.0
    • TOEFL: 83, with no score below 20
    • PTE: 58, with no score less than 56
    • Duolingo:115, minimum of 100 for each subscore
  • What are your chances?
    • Typically, students who get admitted to Western have the equivalent of at least a B (3.0) average in the Canadian grading scale.
    • Since you aren't studying a Canadian secondary school curriculum, we'll calculate your admission average based on curriculum, grading practices and grading scale interpretation.
    • Some programs are more competitive than others! So aim for the highest grades you can earn.
