Scholarship Overview

Western Sydney International Scholarships's Undergraduate is applicable to only Bachelors Degree and Masters Diploma students. This is a Merit Based scholarship. Western Sydney International Scholarships's Undergraduate award up to AUD 6000 on a yearly basis to various international students. This scholarship will be offered to Varies depending upon the university student every year. To be eligible for this scholarship students must have appeared for 12th grade. International students seeing to avail this scholarship need to appear for English proficiency tests like TOEFL, IELTS, PTE. All international students are auto-considered for these scholarships when they apply for the courses that have scholarships.

  • All successful applicants will receive a minimum scholarship valued at $3,000. The $6,000 value will be awarded dependent on the level of academic achievement in previous studies
  • The scholarship is a tuition fee waiver and does not cover costs associated with living expenses, accommodation, transport, overseas student health cover or other costs associated with study

Eligibility

  • Applicants must:
      • be an international student and not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia. If your visa status changes to one of these during the study period, the scholarship will discontinue
      • commence a new course of study in 2022 for the first time
      • be applying to study in a CRICOS registered undergraduate degree program
      • satisfy the academic eligibility requirements for either the $6,000 or $3,000 multi-year scholarship
      • satisfy all other admission requirements and accept their admission offer
  • Successful completion of Higher Secondary Certificate with a pass of 70% in best 4 core subjects from Indian Higher Secondary School Certificate (State Boards)
  • Successful completion of AISCE (CBSE) with an overall GPA of 60% in best 4 core subjects from All India School Certificate (CBSE)
  • Successful completion of ISCE with an overall GPA of 60% in best 4 core subjects from Indian School Certificate (ISC)
  • IELTS: 6.5 overall score, minimum 6.0 in each subtest
  • TOEFL: Total score 82: Writing 21, Speaking 18, Reading 13, Listening 13  
  • PTE: 58 overall; No communication skills less than 50

Additional Information

  • Scholarships will be granted on a first-come-first-served basis until filled
  • Students are advised to accept the scholarship as soon as possible in order to avoid disappointment
  • All new applications for admission will be automatically considered for a scholarship. If applicant is successful, scholarship offer will be outlined in his/her Offer of Admission letter
  • Applicants are not eligible if they:

    • are a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or hold permanent residency in Australia
    • are a study abroad or an exchange student coming to the University
    • are currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at Western Sydney University
    • do not commence study in the session and year indicated in their offer. Commencement may not be deferred
    • are granted more than 160 credit points in advanced standing. (Note: In the event of advanced standing, the scholarship will apply to the reduced duration of the course and will not exceed the annual value of the scholarship in any one year of full-time study)
    • study less than 80 credit points to complete the course
    • are applying to study a program located at Sydney City campus
    • have been awarded another scholarship by the University or another organisation that covers the cost of the tuition fees (fully or partially) to study at Western Sydney University
