In the year 1999 INSEAD opened a campus in Asia and became the first business school to have two full-fledged campuses with permanent faculty, one in Asia and one in Europe. Then, in the year 2000, the founder of modern Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew, participated in the inauguration of the INSEAD Singapore campus.
