History
The Buckinghamshire New University was earlier known as the School of Science and Art established in 1891. Later in 1920, the School of Science and Art was referred to as the Chepping Wycombe Technical Institute and School of Art where the university offered tuition to the ex-soldiers of World War I. Soon the university witnessed an increase in the demand for technical education and later in 1975 the High Wycombe College of Art and Technology merged with the Newland Park College of Education and came to be known as the Buckinghamshire College of Further Education.
The Buckinghamshire College of Further Education gained the status of a University College by the government in 1999 for the exceptional and high-standard teaching, training, and research offered by the university and came to be known as the Buckingham Chilterns University College. The institute renamed to its present day name in 2007. The university continues to excel and prepare its students for success in their chosen careers by offering them with the perfect blend of academics and hands-on practical learning along with placement opportunities.
