My recommendations for studying at Loughborough University - and having an experience of a lifetime!
Tips: Before you even drop down here, make sure to check out what Loughborough has going on with their facilities, clubs, and random programs. The uni runs a bunch of pre-arrival virtual meetups with the staff and current students, and you should 100% skip the hesitation and jump on those calls to get a feel for the place.
I actually managed to do my master's here through a fully funded Chevening Scholarship. If you’ve already been working in your industry for a few years, you seriously need to check out the criteria for Chevening or any other funding options and just go for it. Getting that financial weight off your shoulders means you can completely throw yourself into the classes and the social life here—which is honestly an unforgettable experience.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The lecturers here are absolute experts when it comes to sports management, development, and the political side of it all. They make classes super interactive, which actually helps you take in the information without getting overwhelmed since they use a ton of real examples. Plus, a lot of them are actively running massive research projects in their fields. Because of that, everything they teach is backed by actual data and real-world practice, not just boring textbook theories.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The options for Indian food (restaurants and groceries) in the town and on campus are limited. Also, they do serve Indian food in the university cafeteria on certain days of the week. However, Leicester is 20 minutes away, which has plenty of Indian food options.

Tips: Just keep immigration policies and changes to them in mind, as people usually think they can get immediate experience after uni. Unless you are prepared to deal with the struggles, in which case you should be okay. Heavy reliance on coursework: there are only a few exams for master's students, depending on your course, so it's not overly stressful.

Undergraduate Indian Students at Loughborough
Tips: Didn't face any culture shock when I shifted, but I think it's because I'm just like that. There is a huge Indian community here; they are really sweet and have amazing events and are really sweet and accommodating. Every year many students from India do come here, so you wouldn't be alone.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The teachers are nice. They are extremely helpful and polite. Obviously this is university, and you don't actually have much conversation with them, but still they support you with different things. I haven't seen much racism here from the faculty. The careers network is also useful.
Dislikes (Part time work): Off-campus opportunities are less, especially if you are trying in Loughborough. But if you look at Leicester and are willing to travel there, it's fine then. Leicester is a town nearby; you can go by bus, which is not that expensive, but it depends on the person if they are willing to travel. I recommend getting a bank contact where you have the flexibility to go when you want. They call you and inform you of availability.

Great college and value for money but country for job is not great
Tips: Cultural shift, yes—experiencing mingling with people from abroad has definitely changed my perspective. I didn't get any scholarship. I'm really satisfied with the university and course, but I'm not really satisfied with the country because a visa-sponsoring job wasn't really available, and I always felt like I was an outsider.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Teaching and curriculum are great compared to India. The way the teacher teaches and approaches is really great. Since there is no strictness about attendance and teachers just teach and mind their business, it gives us the freedom to utilize the time how we want.
Dislikes (Internships): I haven't tried for an internship but all I know is that it's not that easy to get internship and university help isn't all that great. I have tried a little for internships but since part time was possible I went but now thinking back I should have tried going for internships because that would have boosted my career.

Diverse learning environment.
Tips: I had a hard time when I arrived at the university. I was homesick and the style of teaching is also quite different from India. Later when I made friends and adapted to the course and learnt how to write my papers it was much easier.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I’m not somebody who wants to stay here long term. Permanent settlement options for those who do are great. Coming from India, it seems a little dull and gloomy at times. There are many great opportunities for students and immigrants if you’re a hard worker.
