- Applicants will hold at least 2:1 degree accredited by British Psychological Society, however, those with 2:2 degrees or who have studied a related subject are also encouraged to apply. The admissions policy of the School is to consider every applicant on their own individual merits therefore prospective students with a lower second class degree and a final year project and/or research methods and statistics grades at a higher level will be considered. This MSc course includes a one-year, post-graduate level module in research methods and statistics that needs to be passed to complete your degree. Applicants who have studied a discipline other than Psychology will be expected to have studied both statistics and research methods as part their undergraduate degree. International applicants will be expected to have achieved an IELTS score of 6.5 with no single component below 6.0. A satisfactory DBS check is not required for entry to the course, however, your placement might necessitate you working with vulnerable groups of individuals, including children. In this instance you may be required to obtain a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance (formerly termed CRB). We will be able to guide you through this process once you have been offered a conditional place of study at the University of Central Lancashire. It is important to note that should your Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check prove to be unsatisfactory for the purpose of the placement you have applied to, then this will require a change to this element of your course.

Excellent in communication, good environment, great professionalism and good professors.
Tips: The first thing students should do is get involved with the student union. There hasn’t been much of a cultural shift. I personally haven’t changed my own culture, but seeing all the different people from different countries and getting to know my classmates has been fun. I spend my day at college enjoying myself with my friends, and I enjoy my college life. There are lots of my new friends from different cultures and different countries. I have a friend who is from Japan, so basically, Japan is known for prioritising punctuality, so I learnt from him the time management system and the importance of punctuality. And there are so many events which are organised at University of Central Lancashire. Lastly, I have participated in the Easter festival. I won first prize, and I got so many chocolates from the University, so it is a good way for students to enjoy their student life. We do have a student club, or we have a community that is known as the student union. All plans are basically decided by the student union, so it is very good to go to the university. I was also able to get a 4500 scholarship, which made my overall satisfaction with the university 90%.
Dislikes (Public transportation): University is good for students who are leaving their home country and going abroad for further studies. So University of Central Lancashire is one of the best universities in Preston. The teaching of the professors is also very good, and I find it unique in their teaching as to my home country. There were no such teaching facilities. Here, the teaching facility is very good, and their pronunciation is fantastic and as they speak English regularly.
