Q:   How can I apply for the University of Derby admissions?
A: 

International students can apply for the University of Derby admissions by submitting their admission application online via UCAS or official website. To get admission to the university, students have to meet the entry requirements as per the programs. You have to submit their admission application before the University of Derby application deadline. The university has programme, course, and country-specific requirements for international students. In general, the country-specific requirements for Indian aspirants are as given below for each programme.

Undergraduate Admissions

  • Indian students are required to have a minimum of 70% in Grade 12
  • English language proficiency with tests like IELTS or TOEFL or PTE

Postgraduate Admissions

  • Students are required to have a bachelor’s degree from institutions recognised by NARIC or government recognised institutions or universities. The following degrees are accepted by the university:
  • Bachelors of Arts/Science (special degree/honours) is accepted from a recognised university.
  • Bachelor of Education (a four-year integrated programme) is accepted from universities recognised by UGC.
  • Bachelor of Engineering/Technology (from IIT or Tier-1 University or the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore) is accepted.
  • A score of 60% is required,  which should be comparable to the UK 2:1 and 50% for UK 2:2, including work experience
  • English language proficiency with tests like IELTS or TOEFL or PTE

Q:   Does the University of Derby accept 3‑year Indian bachelor’s degrees for postgraduate study?
A: 

Yes, the University of Derby accepts the 3-year UG degree for most of the PG programs which are awarded by a recognised university in India.

Generally,  applicants are required to score at least 50% to 60%, depending on the specific programme and the subject competitiveness. Other than this, given below are the requirements, take a look - 

  • Some courses may accept 50% in 12th if the person has work experience
  • English language requirements (IELTS or TOEFL)
