Academic Requirements for Studying in UK

When you apply for any level of course in a foreign country, you need to make sure that you meet all the set eligibility for that particular course. This will serve as proof that you are qualified enough to study that course as per the academic norms of the country where you’re applying. Admission Requirements for Undergraduate Studies in UK

For an undergraduate programme, Indian students should have completed Class 12 from a recognized Indian board, with a good academic record. They will have to submit all their academic transcripts such as marksheets and certificates. If you wish to study a foundation course in the UK, you will need to possess a national diploma or UK A levels or an equal of two Scottish Highers.

The influx of Indian students pursuing a master’s in the UK is massive, with a large number pursuing courses in subjects such as MBA, data science, law, English, management, etc. Although the eligibility requirements for a post-graduate course may vary from those of a UG programme, the documents required for the admission process are almost similar.

So in order to be considered eligible for a post-graduate degree in the UK, you should hold a three-year Bachelor’s degree qualification from a recognized institute. GMAT is required for admission to MBA and management courses. The basic documents which students will have to submit for the purpose of admission are as follows:

English Language Requirments for Studying in UK

When you apply for admission to any of the UK universities, you will have to produce proof of English language proficiency as English is widely spoken in the country. A language certificate will stand witness to the fact that you understand and speak basic English and are fit to pursue a course in the UK which is taught in English.

Some of the commonly accepted English language tests for an undergraduate or a post-graduate or research course in the UK include TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), IELTS (International English Language Testing System), DET (Duolingo English Test), and PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic).

Visa Requirements for Studying in UK

Students who get accepted into any level of programme at UK universities or colleges will need a Student Visa for the same. For this purpose, they will have to submit a visa application which will require their CAS letter or Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies from the university, funding proof and some other documents.

There are primarily two kinds of visas for university education in the UK:
