Appalachian State University Athletics

Over 400-student athletes compete in 17 NCAA Division I varsity sports at Appalachian State University. All varsity teams compete in the Sun Belt Conference, except for field hockey and wrestling. The university has outstanding athletics facilities such as Appalachian Athletic Center, Kidd Brewer Stadium, Gold Indoor Performance Lab, Don Kennedy Trails, Holmes Convocation Center, etc. The men’s and women’s sports in which the university participates are:

Appalachian State University Housing

All freshmen students of App State University are required to live in the residence halls. The residence hall options are Belk Hall, Cannon Hall, Cone Hall, Appalachian Heights, Frank Hall, Mountain Laurel Hall, etc. Students living in the university’s residence halls are required to purchase a meal plan, with the exception to those residing in Appalachian Heights or they live in the apartments in Thunder Hill, Laurel Creek, Raven Rocks, or New River.
