A fun loving, helpful, personalized, and exciting Centre college experience.
Tips: I got the Next Genius full tuition scholarship at Centre College. I will say the community here at Centre is very welcoming. They will help you in every process they can, from transitioning into a new life to making new friends, literally everything. They also host various online programs before joining the college to make you comfortable joining the college offline. If you join Centre College through Next Genius, you will have a community of previous Next Genius scholars at Centre to welcome you.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty at Centre College is very approachable as it's a liberal arts college. Class size is approximately 11-20 students which all students get personalized attention. Student to faculty ratio is 11:1 which is perfect. We can collaborate with professors for any type of research or with any questions. No matter what time of day. You can even approach them at midnight. The teaching faculty is not very diverse. Most of the faculty there are white. I found one thing unique about Centre college which is guaranteed fully funded study abroad programs where you can explore different fields of your own.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I would say in the USA immigration is very difficult especially for a student on an F1 visa. To work there, you have to get an H1b visa which is lottery based and depends on your luck and then you have to convert to a green card to get permanent residence. As an Indian you have to wait a lot to get a green card. I would say I will return to my home country rather than permanently immigrate to the USA.
