Situated in Ohio, John Carroll University is a private university that offers undergraduate programs in liberal arts, science, arts, and business. This Jesuit University was founded by the Society of Jesuits "men's college” in 1886. It was the first and foremost undergraduate liberal arts establishment that was founded as the 19th Jesuit universities and colleges in the nation. Also, it is a part of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities.
The university maintains over 20 major buildings including the administrative and departmental buildings. The institution has a total student enrolment of around 4,000 students. It offers education in certain fields at the master's level. Moreover, for undergraduate students, the university comes with 70 academic programs. It provides academic facilities through its two schools, namely the College of Arts and Sciences and the Boler College of Business. Students studying at the university are required to fulfill the requirements in the core curriculum, as well as those required by their chosen courses.
It’s College of Arts and Sciences offers the students 28 minors and 31 majors’ courses. Students at this college can enroll in some of the known majors like political science, biology, integrated marketing communications, and psychology. On the other hand, the Boler College of Business offers 7 major and numerous minor programs. The college provides academic facilities in areas of business like economics, accountancy, finance, management and human resources, supply chain management, and marketing.
Other than this, the university operates 3 graduate programs through the Boler College of Business. Also, it provides several international programs in which qualified students can enroll. Also, incorporation with Jesuit universities, the university provides some of their own programs as well as other programs. As far as research is concerned, the students of the university, in collaboration with faculties and industry leaders, converse with varied audiences and work over challenging research projects. In addition to 100 student-led organizations, the university maintains 23 varsity sports teams to allow athletes to represent the university at various levels. Furthermore, there are four merit scholarships awarded annually to freshman applicants who perform well in the classical languages.
The university has produced a number of known people who are now working as CEOs, presidents, and leaders of various organizations. Some of the known ones are Mary Ann Ahern, Anthony J. Celebrezze, Peg Wright and James C. Boland.
