Founded in the year 1967, Kettering College, previously known as Kettering College of Medical Arts, is a private institution situated in Kettering city, Ohio. Its ownership lies with the Kettering Medical Centre while the Seventh-day Adventist Church charters it. During its first freshman batch, the college welcomed over 100 students, and today, more than 800 students are enrolled with the prestigious Kettering College to make it a medical service center, as well as an educational center, involved in preparing the youth for the assistance and betterment of others.
The Higher Learning Commission and The Ohio Department of Higher Education accredit Kettering College. The college was first granted accreditation in 1967 by The Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, Colleges, and Universities (AAA). Ever since that time, Kettering College has maintained AAA accreditation. Recently, in 2016, it was sanctioned the maximum accreditation for a term of five years.
Kettering College's main campus is situated in the suburbs of Dayton, Ohio, right next to the Charles F. Kettering Memorial Hospital. However, the college expanded its reach in 2015 to include a second facility in Greene County, which offers the Occupational Therapy Doctoral program. The main campus buildings of Kettering College include state-of-the-art infrastructure and all sorts of recreational amenities, like laboratories, classrooms, libraries, computer facilities, lounges, auditoriums, gymnasium, cafeteria, laundry, the Residence Hall, and other services and offices. The campus is accessible from Dayton International Airport and Interstate 75.
Kettering College offers certificate programs, Bachelor’s degrees in Health Sciences, Nursing and Human Biology, Associate degrees (2 years), Master's in Physician Assistant Studies, and Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. Students pursuing academic courses at Kettering College can specialize in various programs, including Radiologic Sciences & Imaging, Respiratory Care, and Sonography. Many of these degrees are designed for full-time study for students, who are looking forward to earning a marketable degree and a job.
