Founded in 1974 by the chiropractor Sid E. Williams, Life University is the largest chiropractic college in the world. This university is dedicated to the holistic development and well-being of students to enable them to realize their full potential and promote a healthy lifestyle and positive changes as they move forward in the world.
The goal of the university is 'To Give, To Do, To Love, To Serve' because they believe that the life on the planet is more than simply an assembly of tangible parts, and what makes life precious is the consciousness of 'vitalism' bestowed within living things. This belief of Life University makes it the leading institution in chiropractic healthcare, with local and global initiatives.
Located in Marietta, Georgia, USA, the university aims to become the most prominent vitalistic health care educational institution globally, in addition to establishing a lasting legacy in leadership, strategic planning, stability, robust constituencies, and delivery on the brand promise. Besides, the university also has associations around the globe in Greater China, Switzerland, Costa Rica, and Italy. The main campus, located 20 minutes from downtown Atlanta, is a 110-acre picturesque area within the arms of nature. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE), Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) and Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
The university has two colleges, namely the College of Chiropractic and the College of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies. At undergraduate and graduate levels, Life University offers programs in the fields of humanities, business, technology, and natural health sciences. All the programs are developed around a set of eight core proficiencies that include, but are not limited to, integrity, citizenship, critical thinking, leadership, entrepreneurship, and the philosophy of human existence. These core proficiencies also play a role in influencing global policymakers through summits held through think tanks, such as Octagon.
Besides education, the university is also renowned for its sports programs, prime among them being rugby. The university currently houses around 3000 students, out of whom, almost 900 are at the undergraduate level and over 1800 are at the graduate level. The number of faculty members is almost 200. Also, international students currently enrolled in represent over 45 countries in the world.
