Q:   How can I apply to Michigan Technological University?

Prospective international students of Michigan Technological University can apply through the Common Application/Official Application Portal available on the university's website. MTU has two intake seasons: Spring (January Start Date) and Fall (August Start Date).

While applying to this university, all the overseas applicants are required to pay the Michigan Technological University application fee of USD 35 = INR 2912*. Also, students must be aware of the application deadlines, so that they don't miss out on the opportunity to apply. While applying to MTU, applicants are required to send the following documents: completed online application along with fee and official academic transcripts or attested mark sheets.

A: 

Yes, Michigan Technological University allows all international students to work on-campus while studying in the university. MTU has part-time jobs available in numerous departments across campus. All the students looking forward to work while studying in Michigan Tech are eligible to participate in the Michigan Tech work-study programme and can apply for all work-study positions through Handshake, a portal for on-campus jobs, which is available on MTU's official website.

Undergraduate work-study students have been authorized to work up to eight hours per week for 14 weeks each semester, or a total of 112 hours. Students will earn their work-study financial aid award in the form of a bi-weekly pay check for hours worked. Also, they must note that work-study award is not automatic. Students must apply for and be hired for on-campus work-study positions.
