The athletics team of Middle Tennessee State University campus is known as the Blue Raiders. The 17 intercollegiate athletic teams compete in Conference USA of the NCAA’s Division I in the Football Bowl Subdivision. Having brought home 87 conference championships and three individual National Championships, the MTSU Blue Raiders continue to make and break records. The university also has a mascot named Lightning.
