Good college to study and have fun and a bit expensive at the same time.
Tips: Since the cost of living and fee is a bit higher, it is better to have any graduate assistantship before coming here. You need to contact the professors for that. Initially, we may not get the replies. But mailing them frequently could get us an assistantship with which the full fee is waived off.
Likes (Part time work): There is a good chance for students to get part time jobs here. Most of the students have an on campus job. Most of the students get the assistantships because the funding of the college is pretty good. There is a good chance to get a part time job in any of the departments.
Dislikes (Public transportation): There is option of buses. We do have an app to track them but the number of buses are less. We do not know when they come and the route is very limited. The public transport is limited only to the town. So, you need to get a cab or take a car for rent to go out of the town.

It is a good university but you’ll find better options at this cost.
Tips: There are assistantships available in the college. Make sure to apply all of the assistantships before coming to the college and email the professors to get the Assistantship. Do a full review on the colleges you want admission in. Then try choosing from them. Do not choose Msu blindly.
Likes (Safety): I’ve never seen a safer place than this because as it is a small city. There is not a huge population, and everywhere you go, you’ll find students from Mississippi state university. There’ll be cop cars all the time. You’ll feel safe even while roaming in the midnight.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Starkville is more like a village than city. There’ll be far less restaurants here. Among them finding an Indian one is impossible. There is a restaurant with Indian cuisine but it is not worth the money. Cooking Indian stuff is the better option but you can’t find Indian stores in 20 miles surroundings.

A:

For undergraduates, MSU follows a rolling admission system. It means admissions will be open for students until a class completes its 10th day after lectures commence. All academic transcripts (in English or translated into English) need to be sent directly to the university in a sealed envelope bearing the institution’s return address with the Registrar’s signature or stamp across the flap. Apart from this, the following application documents are required:

Q:   How do I apply to Mississippi State University?
A:

International undergraduate applicants can apply via any one of the following ways:

  • Common Application
  • Coalition Application
  • Mississippi State University Application

The university will accept only one application from either of the three portals. Duplicate applications may get rejected. Students who are applying to other US universities via the Common App or Coalition App can apply to MSU through these portals as well.

International graduate applicants need to apply to the university directly using its online application portal. International students can start by filling the application portal of MSU visiting this site apply.msstate.edu/ (undergraduate) or apply.grad.msstate.edu/ (graduate) and follow the steps given below:

Step 1: Create an account on this portal first and then begin the registration process.

Step 2: After logging in to the portal, international students can click on the ‘Start New Application’ option. Now, students can click on the ‘Create Application’ button. Finally, they can open the application form by clicking on the ‘Open Application’ button and start filling in the necessary details.

Step 3: After clicking on ‘Open Application’, students can start by filling up their personal details.

Step 4: Once students provide their personal information, they need to choose their preferred campus and entry term and provide other details.

Step 5: Finally, they may review their application before submitting it.

Students need to submit this application form even to participate in competitive, private, departmental, service, and leadership scholarships. International students should maintain their full-time enrollment and required GPA for scholarship renewal, as scholarships are reviewed once the Spring semester ends. The deadline for submitting the General Scholarship application is in early October.
