North Park University situated in Chicago, Illinois is a Private Christian University. The university was established in 1891 by the Evangelical Covenant Church. It is headed by President Mary Surridge. The university is a Liberal Arts University that is intercultural, Christian, and city-centered. It serves nearly 3,200 undergraduate and graduate students from around the country and the world. The University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and honored by many other accreditation bodies for individual programs.
The university is organized in academic units named College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business and Nonprofit Management, School of Education, School of Music, Art and Theatre, School of Nursing and Health Sciences, School of Professional Studies, and North Park Theological Seminary. The university provides a varied range of sports activities for both women and men, like volleyball, football, soccer, basketball baseball and cross country for men and rowing, volleyball, cross country, basketball, soccer, tennis, and softball for women. The university participates and competes in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.
The university also caters to student-led organizations on campus sponsored by the North Park Student Government Association (SGA). The university provides value-based education to its students through more than 40 undergraduate majors, graduate and continuing education in Theology, Business, Music, Nonprofit Management, Education, and Nursing.
The university provides amenities for the students in the form of Brandel Library, LEED Certified Johnson Centre for Science and Community Life, Holmgren Athletic Complex, and the Helwig Recreational Centre.
