The intercollegiate athletic teams of Rutgers University, Newark campus, are also referred to as the Scarlet Raiders, who have mostly competed in the NJAC (New Jersey Athletic Conference) since 1985. The university also has a cheerful mascot named Scarlett Raider the Fox.
