- All prerequisites are required at the college level from an accredited school and must be included on the submitted transcript as part of the Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA) application process. Prerequisites may not be in progress at the time of application submission. Each prerequisite is expected to be one full course, either a quarter or a semester, and a minimum of three units, depending on the location where it was completed. Completion of prerequisite coursework from an accredited, online academic institution is acceptable. Advanced Placement scores awarded in high school do NOT fulfill prerequisites. All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of C or better:
- One course in human anatomy with lab*
- One course in human physiology with lab*
- Or human anatomy and physiology series: Part I and Part II with lab
(NOTE: Mammalian, vertebrate or animal anatomy or physiology do not fulfill this requirement.) - One course in chemistry with lab
- One course in microbiology or bacteriology with lab
- One course in English composition
- Two courses in social sciences. Ideal courses provide exposure to human or organizational behavior — such as psychology, sociology, ethnic studies, women's studies or cultural anthropology.
- NOTE: Social science courses may be completed in two different subject areas or within the same subject area.
- It is desired that the human anatomy and human physiology prerequisite courses be completed within the past five years of the date of application. Competitive applicants should self-assess their strengths. If it has been a number of years since courses were completed, applicants may want to consider retaking them.
- Physician assistant program applicants may complete a combined Human Anatomy and Human Physiology series course: Part I and Part II with labs. Series courses are offered in two parts and are completed over the course of two quarters or two semesters. Series courses must be completed in full and must include a lab component. If an applicant only completes one part of the series course, the student must additionally complete a course in either Human Anatomy or Human Physiology to fulfill the requirement. Mammalian or animal does not fulfill this requirement.

The economic crisis and policy changes concerning immigration have made living more challenging.
Tips: The culture here is both inclusive and accepting. You will be a part of some of the most culturally rich environments, with clubs and societies ranging from dramatics to artificial intelligence to sports and so much more. I was given a merit-based scholarship that reduced my tuition by 8,500, which has been helpful. Since this is a big campus, getting a bike would really save time.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Living in the United States these days has become a very far-fetched idea. The economic crisis and policy changes concerning immigration have made living here more challenging. It is even more difficult because student visas have been revoked in some cases.

Beautiful campus with good people and a diverse campus.
Tips: The University of California at Davis is a very welcoming and student-friendly environment. The campus is huge, so you might want to start mapping out your classrooms and labs as soon as you can. Biking is recommended to make getting through campus easier. Be sure to check out and enroll in some of the many available student organizations. These organizations will give you a sense of community and look good on any future applications. Try to interact with the locals and explore the city. Overall, I am satisfied with the course and the country.

Tips: I would recommend coming to the US for your postgraduate programs instead of your undergraduate studies. You will get a higher return on your investment, and you will save money. If you are planning on staying off-campus, find a local resident to be your guarantor. This will help you in several legal and financial aspects. Besides, there are student bodies that will look out for you in case you have difficulties adjusting. There are many different student groups here that are designed to appeal to lots of students' interests. Look around and see what piques yours, and get involved. Overall, I am satisfied with my experiences.

Tips: The campus is beautiful and there is a lot of space to study or unwind especially outdoors. If you are passionate about research and experimenting, then this would be a right fit for you as here students are encouraged to explore their own niche and ideas. Finally, one of the biggest assets of studying here would be its reputation as a teaching hub and the windows of opportunities present.
Likes (Indian Food): I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of Indian restaurants within the vicinity and how popular the cuisine is here. You will never feel out of place and there are specific restaurants for different states such as South Indian, Gujarat, etc. Most of them are pretty reasonable and the Indian grocery stores are quite popular as well.
