Highlights

  • Master of Arts (M.A.) program is designed to provide foundational training for students to prepare them to launch into doctoral training programs, conduct applied psychological research or provide clinical services
  • The Psychology Department offers two tracks within its Master's program: Clinical & Psychological Science
  • The clinical track of the Master of Arts in Psychology is an adult-focused program that follows the Boulder scientist/practitioner training model which emphasizes the integrated roles of science and practice. Training in the applied skills of clinical assessment and intervention requires a thorough understanding of the range of human functioning
  • The Psychological Science track of the Master of Arts in Psychology provides the student with a solid foundation in psychological research. The program includes coursework in Psychological Science design, research methodology, and statistics. The student will also develop an area of specialization that will serve as a basis for elective coursework and the Master's thesis
  • Upon completing either of these programs, a student is conferred a general M.A. degree in Psychology. But M.A. students also have the option to gain experience within a specialized sub-field, formally called a "sub-plan," in the discipline
