University of Maryland, Baltimore Admissions 2025: Application Deadline, Requirements & Costs

Undergraduate requirements:

1. Applicants must submit a copy of their current high school marks, including an English translation.

• Statement of purpose ( an SOP): An SOP is essential for the application process for UNBC. It helps the applicant to convey their talents, Academic excellence accomplishments and personal background of applicants. 

• Transcripts and degrees: the applicant must provide the university with transcripts of their academics with degree certificates. Similarly, applying for PhD or doctoral programme may require a master’s degree and transcripts from all graduate institutions of the applicant. 

• English Language Proficiency exams: The following table explains the minimum score  of each English exam the university is accepting: 

• Resume/CV:  The University might also ask you for a CV or a resume, depending on the course you choose for professional experience. 

• Applicants must have a GPA of 3 and above in their Undergraduate program to be considered for UMBC.

• MATH 151: Calculus I

• MATH 221: Introduction to Linear Algebra

• At least one more advanced math course

• AND, at least 1 course from the following list:

• CMSC 435: Computer Graphics
• CMSC 451: Automata Theory & Formal Languages
• CMSC 455: Numerical Computations
• CMSC 461: Database Management Systems
• CMSC 471: Artificial Intelligence
• CMSC 481: Computer Network
