Good faculty; very helpful.
Tips: It honestly didn’t take me too long to adjust to Eugene, it’s a very welcoming and multicultural college town. The university has many different options for scholarships, you just need to be proactive in the context of finding and applying to them on time because they might not be advertised openly every time. I was thoroughly satisfied by my experience here, the UO gave me a network for life.
Likes (Public transportation): Eugene, OR, has excellent local transportation; the buses are always reliable and almost always on time. The university campus is well connected and safe at all hours of the day and night. Bus passes on the transportation app are cheap and affordable and the majority of students use it.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Under its current administration, the United States is no longer friendly to immigrants from the global south. The H1B to Green card pathway isn’t a viable option for most Indian citizens. Being a foreign employee in the United States means having to be in a perpetual state of precarity.
