A: 

The University of St. Gallen provides scholarships and student loans to help students facing financial hardship. While the scholarships are paid as a one-off sum, student loans are to be paid back to the university after the programme ends. Student loans generally do not charge any interest when a programme is ongoing. However, the interest amount is considered after a student completes the program. Students are advised to check the official website since the terms and conditions are subject to change.

To be eligible for any kind of financial aid, a student must be enrolled in St. Gallen for a minimum of one semester. The scholarships offered by the university are:

1. Excellence Scholarship

This scholarship is given to undergraduate international students in the form of a fee waiver. This means that the excellence scholarship will account for your entire tuition fee. A candidate must apply for the excellence scholarship before the commencement of the programme at the university.

2. Starr International Foundation Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is given to non-German-speaking students applying for an English-taught master’s degree program. The candidate must hold a three-year bachelor’s degree. Exceptional and highly talented students are recognised by the Advice Center of Student Funding and are then contacted to participate in the application process.
