University History
The efforts to start the American University in Dubai Dubai began in 1991, when Mr. Bou Saab visited the different ministries of the UAE, to start a university that offered American-style education in the country. 4 years later, his efforts led to the start of the UAE's first private university, a branch of the American College in Atlanta. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai, helped fund the university's operations and continues to do so till today.
