Tips: Students have to prepare themselves for a new academic environment and embrace different cultures. It was easy and helped me become independent. I did not take any help from any of the scholarships that were available. Mostly, I am satisfied with the university, course, and country.

Likes (Student Life): Student life at JNU RAK is enjoyable and active. I spend my day attending classes, studying and spending time with friends. The campus hosts cultural, academic and social events, while student clubs and communities offer good opportunities to participate and connect.

Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The teaching staff is highly knowledgeable, approachable, and helpful. They explain the concept using examples and interactions. Likes (Student Life): Giving student life a full 5/5 comes down to how lively and close-knit the environment is at the RAK campus. Because we're in a specific academic hub in Ras Al Khaimah, you aren't just sitting through lectures and heading straight home—there’s always something happening after class. Most days are a mix of studying in the lounge with classmates, finishing up group work, and seeing what student events are going on after class. The university regularly hosts cultural festivals that showcase the huge mix of international students we have here, along with sports tournaments, workshops, and inter-college meets. I make a point to stay actively involved in student clubs and cultural communities, which makes it super easy to build real friendships and build a network while doing your degree in RAK.

Dislikes (Indian Food): I rated 4 because food from my home country is available but with limited variety and slightly higher prices. Nearby, there are Indian, Arabic, fast-food, and cafe options ranging from AED 15 to 60 per meal. I mostly cook myself and eat out occasionally on weekends.

Transport is reliable, safe, and easy to access. Monthly travel expenses are reasonable, making it convenient for students to commute for classes, shopping, and other daily needs.

Dislikes (Indian Food): I rated 4/5 because there are several Indian, Pakistani, and other Asian restaurants near JNU Ras Al Khaimah offering meals for AED 15u201340. Likes (Internships): I rated this a 5 because the university actually puts in the work to get you ready for the UAE job market. Since JNU RAK makes doing a full-time internship in your sixth semester mandatory, you don’t just graduate with a degree—you leave with actual work experience. The career services team and our tutors are super hands-on and constantly share relevant openings with us. The best part is that the placements aren't just generic admin work; they actually line up with whatever you are studying, whether you're doing cybersecurity, fintech, or hospitality. It makes a massive difference because you get to work inside real UAE companies, build a local professional network, and actually feel confident about landing a job here after you finish.

Dislikes (Part time work): I rated 4 because on-campus part-time jobs are limited, but off-campus roles in retail, hospitality, delivery, and customer service are available. Balancing work with studies is manageable. Students typically earn around AED 1,500–3,000/month depending on hours and role.
