University of Plymouth was established in 1862 and is based in the city of Plymouth, United Kingdom and was founded first as the School of Navigation. University of Plymouth History
University of Plymouth was first founded in 1862 as the School of Navigation before it became a university college in 1920 as well as a polytechnic institute in the year 1970. Later in 1989, the university was renamed as the Polytechnic South West and had gained university status in the year 1992.
By October 2008, University of Plymouth had been selected by the Royal Statistical Society to become the home for the Centre of Statistical Education. The Babbage Building of the university was being internally and externally established in the year 2021.
