Adler University History
Adler University derives its name from Alfred Adler, a physician, psychotherapist, and founder of Adlerian psychology. In 1952, the university started its journey as the Institute of Adlerian Psychology, established by Rudolf Dreikurs (one of Adler’s advocates and followers). Later, in 1954, the university was renamed Alfred Adler Institute of Chicago. In 1991, Adler University acquired its now-known name.
