GSU History
GA State began in a rented space in downtown Atlanta, as the Evening School of Commerce of the Georgia Institute of Technology. It soon became an independent college and was renamed to the Georgia State College of Business Administration. After expanding its mission, it again got renamed to Georgia State College. 1969 saw it take over its present-day name.
