ISACA began as the EDP Auditors Association (EDPAA) in 1969 before taking over it's current name in 1994. In 2008, the association dropped its long title and simply came to be known as ISACA. 2016 saw it buy the CMMI Institute, behind the Capability Maturity Model Integration.
