About University of Dayton
The University of Dayton is a Catholic research university established in 1850, in Southwest Ohio, USA. It is known as the No.1 Catholic University for Engineering R&D. Based on recent data, the University has more than 11,000 undergraduates, graduates, and law students. The University was founded in 1850 by the Society of Mary and lays a major emphasis on academics, research, and community involvement. University of Dayton History
The University of Dayton was established in 1850 by Mary Society. In the history of 170 years, the university. Initially, it was established as St. Mary Schools enrolling 14 primary students from Dayton. In 1861, college preparatory classes were started. In 1882, the college started awarding Collegiate degrees. During the war, the college gave shelter to the victims. The college also started Military training in the wake of the World Wars. The college was renamed to its present day name in 1920.
As per the official enrollment statistics, for 2023-24 the university enrolls 11,304 students. UDayton accepts students from around the world and is one of the most popular universities in the world.
