Overall, the college has good ambience and excellent infrastructure.
Placements: Placements in IIT ISM are good for undergraduate students and are average for PG students. In 2017-18, the placement percentage was 93%. The highest salary package offered last year was 16 LPA, and the average package was 7-8 LPA. Companies like L&T, Maruti Suzuki, TCS, Infosys, Coal India, Tata Motors, and PSUs, etc., visited our college for placements. Many giant companies like Microsoft, Google and Flipkart also visited for campus recruitment drives.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities provided in our college are wonderful. There are two separate lecture hall complexes. Each lecture hall complex is equipped with a sound system and Wi-Fi facility. The 2nd largest library in Asia is present in IIT ISM Dhanbad. It is a 5-storeyed building with several reading halls. Medical facilities are available 24*7. For extracurricular activities, there is a separate four-storeyed building named as Student Activity Centre.
Faculty: IIT, ISM has many good faculty members, although it varies from individual to individual. Maximum of the faculty members recruited are from IITs or NITs. All of them are PhD holders. Majority of them are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable.
Other: IIT ISM is very popular for one of its major fests named Srijon. It is a technical fest where students from various colleges come and participate in various technical events. Apart from it, there are many communities to organise several cultural fests throughout the year. The college offers many courses like EE, CSE, ME, civil, mining, petroleum, management, humanities and social science, and each course has versatile subjects. The campus crowd is good enough. This campus is lush green and eco-friendly. Student activity centre conducts extracurricular activities.

One of the good colleges. I recommend this college to every one.
Placements: Placements for the students of M.Tech are average. But the placements for the students of B.Tech are excellent. Almost 98% of students from the CSE department were placed in 2015. The highest package offered was 25 LPA by Google, and the average package offered was 6 LPA to 7 LPA. The lowest package offered was 3.2 LPA. Companies like Flipkart, Amazon, Direct-I, Coal India, Google, Samsung, IBM, TCS and RnD etc., visited the campus for placements. Most of the companies offered profiles such as a developer or software engineer. A few universities visited to offer assistant professor roles to M.tech and PhD scholars. IIT, Dhanbad has a very good placement cell. The college works efficiently for the students of B.Tech to make them placed.
Infrastructure: New hostels and classrooms are good. The college provides projector facility. Boys hostels have good facilities such as late-night canteen and stationery shops etc. There are a few hostels for girls. Classrooms are good. The Wi-Fi facility provided is good. You will get 24*7 library facility.
Faculty: All the teachers are highly qualified. They have an in-depth knowledge of their subjects. Faculty members are very much concerned about the placements of the students, which is good. The college offers a variety of courses like M.Sc., B.Tech, MCA, PhD and M.Tech., etc. The college needs to increase the number of faculty members.
Other: The college maintains good standards in organising tech fests and cultural fests. Many inter-college and intra-college level activities are organised throughout the year. One of the good colleges to pursue B.Tech.

That is one of the problems of Government College in India but don’t worry try to contact ex-student of that college or do some online research.

It's better but first qualify GATE so that it would be better you to join in any government sector. Nowadays many government sectors are making GATE as the qualification for them. M.Tech is not that useful. Go with government jobs preparation.
