BITSAT 2023 exam dates will be released soon. To participate in the entrance examination, the candidates will have to fill out and submit the BITSAT 2023 application form before the final date. The authorities will conduct BITSAT 2023 as a computer-based test. Registered candidates will be able to access the BITSAT 2023 admit card online. Candidates who complete the BITSAT 2023 slot booking process will be able to download the admit card. During the examination, the candidates will have to attempt 130 multiple-choice questions on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Proficiency, and Logical Reasoning. What is BITSAT?

Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) 2023 is an entrance exam conducted by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, for admissions to undergraduate engineering courses (BE) at its three campuses located at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. Admissions will be offered to the candidates into BE, BPharm and MSc programmes after qualifying for the admission test. The exam is conducted online and around 3 lakh students apply for this entrance exam every year.

BITSAT 2023 Application Form

The application process for BITSAT 2023 involves different steps. To duly fill out the application form, it is important that the candidate completes each step as given below:

  • Registration: In the first step, the candidates will have to register by providing a valid email id and mobile number. The same is used by the BITS Pilani for any exam-related communications.
  • Filling out the form: After successful registration, candidates will have to enter their personal, communication and academic details in the online BITSAT 2023 application form. Candidates also have to select three exam centres, in the order of their preference.
  • Uploading of documents: In the next step, candidates will have to upload scanned images of photographs and signatures in the prescribed format.
  • Payment of application fee: After entering all the details and uploading the documents, students will have to pay the BITSAT 2023 application fee online using net banking, credit, or debit cards or UPI.
  • Submitting BITSAT application form: After fee payment, the candidates will have to submit their application form. They are required to check all the details and documents before final submission.

BITSAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Mentioned below are the BITSAT 2023 eligibility criteria that aspirants need to fulfil to appear for the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test.

For admission to any of the First Degree programmes of BITS except BPharm (Hons):  

  • The candidates should have passed the class 12th examination from a recognised Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Candidates must have adequate proficiency in English.
  • Should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects.

For admission to BPharm (Hons):   

  • Should have passed the class 12th examination from a recognised Central or State board or its equivalent with the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Candidates must have adequate proficiency in English. However, candidates with PCMB in Class 12 can also apply for the Pharmacy programme at BITS campuses.
  • The candidates should have obtained a minimum aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (and Maths, if they are PCMB students) subjects with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (and Maths, if they are PCMB students) subjects.

Additional Eligibility Criteria to keep in mind:

  • Only students who are appearing for the Class 12 examination in 2023 or have passed in 2020 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT 2023. Students who have passed their Class 12 examination in 2019 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in BITSAT 2023.
  • If a candidate has taken more than one attempt in the 12th class or its equivalent, only his/her latest performance will be considered, provided this attempt had been for the full component of subjects/courses prescribed.
  • Students who are presently studying in any of the BITS campuses are not eligible to appear in BITSAT 2023.
  • Admissions will be made purely on a merit basis. The merit position of the candidate for admission is based on the score obtained by the candidate in the BITSAT 2023. However, their eligibility for admission is subject to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in the Class 12 board exam, as mentioned above.

BITSAT 2023 Syllabus

BITSAT syllabus 2023 will be similar to that of the class 11 & 12 NCERT syllabus. Questions in the exam will be based on various concepts of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, and English Proficiency. Some of the topics under all subjects will be as:

  • Physics: Topics under Physics will be units & measurement, rotational motion, mechanics of solids, Heat & thermodynamics, rotational motion, etc.
  • Chemistry: Various topics will be atomic structure, states of matter, physical & chemical equilibrium, s & p-block elements, principles of organic chemistry, hydrocarbons, and much more.
  • Mathematics: Some of the topics will be algebra, trigonometry, three-dimensional geometry, differential calculus, linear programming, etc.
  • English Proficiency: Vocabulary, Grammar, Reading Comprehension, Analogy, and Composition.
  • Logical Reasoning: Verbal reasoning- Analogy, Classification, reading passage, and many others. Non-verbal reasoning- Figure Matrix, paper cutting, rule detection, and many other topics.

BITSAT 2023 Exam Pattern

Candidates must go through the following details regarding BITSAT Exam Pattern:

  • Exam Mode: BITSAT 2023 will be conducted online (computer-based) only.
  • No. of questions: There are a total of 130 questions in the exam paper.
  • Medium: The question paper will be in the English language.
  • Sections: The question paper will consist of 4 sections/parts.
  • Time Duration: Candidates have to attempt the question paper within 3 hours i.e. 180 minutes.
  • Marking scheme: 3 marks for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

BITSAT 2023 Preparation Tips

The candidates can check BITSAT preparation tips 2023 to prepare for the exam:

  • Go through the complete syllabus & exam pattern thoroughly
  • Make a proper preparation schedule & strictly follow it
  • Solve the previous year's question & sample paper
  • Analyse each test to check your capability
  • Keep at least last one week for revision

BITSAT 2023 Slot Booking

BITSAT 2023 slot booking will commence after the registration process is over. The slot booking will allow the candidates to book the date, time and slot for BITSAT 2023 entrance exam. For BITSAT slot booking, candidates will have to log in to the official website using their application number and password. The authorities will conduct separate slot booking for the different sessions.

BITSAT 2023 Admit Card

BITS Pilani will release the BITSAT 2023 admit card online. The hall ticket can be downloaded only after booking a slot for the exam. The BITSAT hall ticket 2023 is an important document as, without it, candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam. 

BITSAT 2023 Result

BITSAT 2023 result date will be announced soon. Candidates will be able to check their obtained scores through the BITSAT result 2023 in the form of a scorecard. To download the BITSAT 2023 scorecard, the candidates will have to log in using their application number and password.  Only eligible candidates who score the required minimum marks will be able to participate in the BITSAT 2023 counselling. The merit position of eligible candidates will be prepared on the basis of candidates’ BITSAT 2023 scores. 

BITSAT 2023 Counselling

BITSAT 2023 counselling will be conducted in the form of iterations. Candidates will have to fill out their preferences for BITSAT counselling 2023 online. The institute will release an admission list and waitlist after each round. There will be seven rounds of BITSAT counselling in the form of iterations. Direct admissions will be given to all those students who obtain the first rank in their respective State/ Central board exams, irrespective of their BITSAT 2023 Score.

Q. When will the process of BITSAT 2023 application form filling begin?

A. BITSAT 2023 application form dates will be available soon. The dates will be released at bitsadmission.com. 

Q. When will the BITSAT 2023 be conducted?

A. BITSAT 2023 exam dates are yet to be announced. The exam will be held as a computer-based test.

Q. Are class 12 board toppers allowed to participate directly in the BITSAT counselling?

A. First rank holders of all national and state boards are eligible for direct admission to BE courses offered by the BITS Pilani. They need not appear for the entrance exam.

Q. Is the BITSAT score mandatory for B.Pharma admission at BITS campuses?

A. If you are aspiring for BPharma admission in any of the campuses of BITS, you will have to clear the BITSAT exam. No other scores will be considered for admissions.

Q. Does any private college (expect BITS) accept a BITSAT score for B.Tech admission?

A. BITSAT score is valid only for BE admission offered by BITS Goa, Pilani and Hyderabad campuses. No other college will accept BITSAT scores for admissions.

Q. Is BITSAT tougher than JEE Main?

A. According to previous trends and experts' feedback, the difficulty level of JEE Main and BITSAT is almost similar. Candidates can study the same syllabus as the JEE Main syllabus.

Q. What will be the medium of the BITSAT 2023 question paper?

A. BITSAT 2023 question paper will be conducted online in English medium only. Candidates will not be able to choose their medium. 

Q. I have taken Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in 10+2. Am I Eligible to Apply for BITSAT?

A. Candidates with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in 10+2 can attempt BITSAT 2023. However, they will be eligible to apply only to the BPharm programme.

Q. I passed the class 12 exam in 2021 with less than 75% aggregate in PCM. Am I eligible if I reappeared in the class 12 exam to improve my marks?

A. Yes, candidates appearing for the class 12 exams are eligible to apply for the BITSAT.

Q. What was the previous year's cutoff of BITSAT?

A. BITSAT cutoff varies according to the BTech branches offered by participating institutes. Last year, the minimum marks required by candidates for admission to BITS Pilani was 270.

Q. What is the age criteria for BITSAT 2023?

A. As per the age criteria for BITSAT 2023, candidates should have completed their 12th standard exams in 2022 or 2023.

For admission to B.Pharma (Hons):

Students must have adequate proficiency in English . However, students with PCMB in Class 10+2 can also apply for the Pharmacy programme at BITS campuses.
