What is BITSAT?
Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) is an entrance exam conducted by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, for admissions to undergraduate engineering courses (BE) at its three campuses located at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. Admissions are offered annually to the candidates into BE, BPharm and MSc programmes after qualifying for the admission test. The entrance exam is conducted online and around 3 lakh students apply for it every year.

The authorities are yet to release the official number of seats offered for admissions through the BITSAT. However, there is estimated to be around 3,000 seats in the different campuses of BITS Pilani under BE course. The distribution seats are expected to be Birla Institute of Technology Pilani (1,040 seats), Birla Institute of Technology Hyderabad (1,080 seats) and Birla Institute of Technology Goa (850 seats). In case of any updates in the number of available seats for admission, the authorities will announce it online at the official website.
During the admission process, the authorities will release the BITSAT admit list and wait list online. The official BITSAT admit and wait list will be released as Iterations. BITSAT admit list will consist of the names of the candidates who have cleared the minimum cut off criteria for admission. BITSAT 2025 Application Form

BITSAT 2025 application form for Session 2 was available online at bitsadmission.com. Candidates had to complete the BITSAT 2025 registration and application form-filling process before the final date, i.e., June 10, 2025. After the final date, the authorities did not accept any registration requests. All of the details submitted in the application form had to be valid and correct. To fill out the application form of BITSAT 2025, the candidates had to follow the given steps.
- Registration: First, the candidates had to go to bitsadmission.com and click on the official registration link. For registration, the candidates had to provide their valid email address and mobile number.
- Filling of the application form: After the registration process was completed, the candidates had to fill out the BITSAT 2025 application form with their personal, contact and academic information. All of the details had to be valid. Next, the candidates had to select three exam centres in order of preference.
- Uploading of documents: In the next step, the candidates had to upload scanned images of photographs and signatures in the prescribed format. If the uploaded documents were not per the official specifications, they were not accepted.
- Payment of application fee: Finally, the candidates had to pay the BITSAT 2025 application fee. The payment of the fee had to be done online, i.e., through PayU Money, PayTM, or ICICI Payment Gateway. The authorities did not accept any other mode of payment.
- Submission of the form: After fee payment, the candidates had to submit their BITSAT application form. They were required to check all the details and documents before final submission.
BITSAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria
The official BITSAT 2025 eligibility criteria have been released online. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria carefully, since if they are not able to meet the criteria, they will be disqualified from the admission process.
For admission to any of the First Degree programmes of BITS except BPharm (Hons):
- The candidates should have passed the 12th standard examination from a recognised Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Candidates must have adequate proficiency in English.
- Should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects.
For admission to BPharm (Hons):
- Should have passed the 12th standard examination from a recognised Central or State board or its equivalent with the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Candidates must have adequate proficiency in English. However, candidates with PCMB in Class 12 can also apply for the Pharmacy programme at BITS campuses.
- The candidates should have obtained a minimum aggregate of 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (and Maths, if they are PCMB students) subjects with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (and Maths, if they are PCMB students) subjects.
Additional Important Eligibility Criteria:
- Only students who are appearing for the 12th standard examination in 2025 or have passed in 2022 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT 2025. Students who have passed their Class 12 examination in 2021 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in BITSAT 2025.
- If a candidate has taken more than one attempt in the 12th standard or its equivalent, only his/her latest performance will be considered, provided this attempt had been for the full component of subjects/courses prescribed.
- Candidates who are presently studying in any of the BITS campuses will not be eligible to appear for BITSAT 2025.
- Admissions will be made purely on a merit basis. The merit position of the candidate for admission will be based on the score obtained by the candidate in the BITSAT 2025. However, their eligibility for admission is subject to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in the 12th standard board exam, as mentioned above.

BITS Pilani has released the marking scheme along with the BITSAT 2025 exam pattern. For every correct answer, the candidates will be awarded 3 marks. However, if the candidate marks the wrong answer, then 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions. Before the examination, the candidates are advised to carefully check the marking scheme, so that they are aware of how they will be marked for their answers. Since there is negative marking, the candidates are advised to leave the questions unattempted, if they are not sure of the answers.
Candidates will have to answer 130 multiple-choice questions in the BITSAT paper.
