Bachelor Design is a 4 year professional UG course offerings various specializations like fashion designing, industrial design, textile design, product design and many more. Fashion technology is essentially any innovative tech that creates contemporary tools for the industry, whether they improve fashion production or consumption.

NIFT entrance examination is Institutional based examination which will only help you to get into NIFT whereas UCEED is a common Entrance Examination which is accepted by many design colleges and universities. So if you plan to get into only NIFT then you do have to give NIFT Entrance Exam but if you plan to apply in many universities then UCEED is a better option as you'll have many university choices and you can get admission on the basis of UCEED score.

  • I know it’s very exciting when you’re working on a design you love and can’t wait to share it with the world. but always wait until AFTER the submission date, because hoes be plaigarizing. Shamelessly plaigarizing.
Q:   What is the cut-off for BDes in Textile Design at NIFT Bangalore?
A: 

The cutoff for BDes in Textile Design at NIFT Bangalore is 701 for the year 2022. Admission to the BDes Textile Design programme is entrance based. Candidates are required to appear for NIFT Entrance Exam. NIFT cutoff depends on variables like seat matrix, category of the candidate, total applications, category, Common Merit Rank (CMR) of the candidate in NIFT 2023, and the popularity (or ranking) of the institute. If any of these variables change, the cut-off would also change.

Q:   When will the NIFT 2023 answer key be released?
A: 
A. The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) released the NIFT 2023 answer key on February 22, 2023. The question paper for NIFT 2023 was also be released alongside the answer key. Candidates were also able to challenge the answer key and question paper on payment of a non-refundable fee of INR 500 (per observation/objection). The feedback given by the candidate against the draft key is used by exam officials to prepare the final keys. The final answer key contains the correct and official keys for questions asked in the NIFT exam.
Q:   Is lateral entry available at NIFT, Bangalore?
A: 
NIFT lateral entry admission provides an opportunity of NIFT education to candidates who have completed their Diploma/Degree in relevant / related fields of Fashion Design & Technology for direct admission to the third semester of UG programmes of NIFT at NIFT campuses as listed in Annexure III. The candidates who have acquired Diploma/Degree will compete at an All India Entrance Exam to get lateral admission in the 3rd semester of UG programmes of NIFT. The admission to these candidates will be strictly on merit which will be prepared based on the performance of candidates in written test, studio test/technology aptitude test, and a personal interview. The candidates selected through lateral entry will join the regular UG students of NIFT in their second year for seats listed in Annexure III.
