The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Bangalore offers a Master of Design (M.Des) program. Admissions to the M.Des program at NIFT Bangalore are based on candidates’ performance in the NIFT entrance exam. This exam comprises the General Ability Test (GAT), Creative Ability Test (CAT), Situation Test or Group Discussion, and Personal Interview. The cutoff for BDes in Textile Design at NIFT Bangalore is 701 for the year 2022. Admission to the BDes Textile Design programme is entrance based. Candidates are required to appear for NIFT Entrance Exam. NIFT cutoff depends on variables like seat matrix, category of the candidate, total applications, category, Common Merit Rank (CMR) of the candidate in NIFT 2023, and the popularity (or ranking) of the institute. If any of these variables change, the cut-off would also change.

A. The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) released the NIFT 2023 answer key on February 22, 2023. The question paper for NIFT 2023 was also be released alongside the answer key. Candidates were also able to challenge the answer key and question paper on payment of a non-refundable fee of INR 500 (per observation/objection). The feedback given by the candidate against the draft key is used by exam officials to prepare the final keys. The final answer key contains the correct and official keys for questions asked in the NIFT exam.

NIFT lateral entry admission provides an opportunity of NIFT education to candidates who have completed their Diploma/Degree in relevant / related fields of Fashion Design & Technology for direct admission to the third semester of UG programmes of NIFT at NIFT campuses as listed in Annexure III. The candidates who have acquired Diploma/Degree will compete at an All India Entrance Exam to get lateral admission in the 3rd semester of UG programmes of NIFT. The admission to these candidates will be strictly on merit which will be prepared based on the performance of candidates in written test, studio test/technology aptitude test, and a personal interview. The candidates selected through lateral entry will join the regular UG students of NIFT in their second year for seats listed in Annexure III.
