About Capilano University
Capilano University offers approximately over 12,700 students every year with an enrollment of over 2,500 international students. The university offers 100+ programs in various majors like Design, Film, Business, Administration, Interdisciplinary Studies and Early Childhood Education, etc. Capilano University is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
History
Capilano University was founded in 1968 and was named after Chief Joe Capilano and began with just over 700 students. Later, Capilano University established its permanent campus in North Vancouver in 1973 and four years later opened the Sunshine CoastCampus in Sechelt, in 2020 CapU Lonsdale opened, and the CapU Squamish is set to open in Fall 2024. Capilano University aims to transform the lives of the learners, employees, and communities along with offering experiences, and engagement opportunities to actualize their passion and potential.
