History
The Vermilion School of Agriculture officially opened on Nov 17, 1913, with a crowd of locals lining the corridors of a new college facility. The college became Alberta's third post-secondary institution on that day. The provincial government was persuaded to establish an agriculture school by the Vermilion Board of Trade. In 1911, Vermilion was finally designated as a demonstration agriculture site. It was then chosen as one of the three agricultural schools.
